11 Bob Dylan Songs in Chinese Translation- See if you know the songs!
Did you hear the news? Bob Dylan is finally heading to China for a couple concerts! Dylan joins the bizarre group that has made the trip over the years along with the Backstreet Boys and the Rolling Stones. From the numerous stories across the web it looks like the band will be in China between March 30 to April 12. Dear Chinese Government: Don’t cancel the concert…that would ruin this post! There are a couple sites out there advertising that tickets are being sold in Shanghai for April 8th.
Before all this happens though, my question is: Which songs will Bob Dylan sing and will the Chinese really understand them? (I know most of the time Western singers who go to China play for the Expat crowd.) I decided to do a bit of research across the web and found 11 of Bob Dylan’s songs and their Chinese names. Fantastic! ‘All Along the Watch Pagoda’ is my favourite. Although I think you could get away with translating that back into the original English title, instead of using ‘pagoda’.
