Welcome to Panda Week here at M and Mx.com. This week our comics feature our Panda journalist! He works for PNN, the Panda News Network. We did another series of Panda interviews about Google and Baidu a while back here, here, here, here, here and here. But this week it’s all about China and COFFEE!
But let’s get straight to our PNN News for this week:

China to Send Japan 2 Pandas to Help Warm Relations
AP is reporting that China is going to send 2 pandas from the Panda reserve in Sichuan Province to the Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan. Apparently the pandas will be there for 10 years! Here’s a clip from the article:
The official Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday that China will send Bi Li and Xian Nu, both five-year-olds from China’s Wolong Nature Reserve, to Japan early next year for a 10-year stay at Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo.
We hope you enjoy your stay Bi Li and Xian Nu! Just go easy on the sushi, wasabi and Saki.
World Wildlife Fund Allows You to Adopt a Panda!
According to the World Wildlife Fund’s website you can adopt a Panda bear along with many other animals. From $25-$250 you can get official adoption papers, a photo and for more money a stuffed animal. I guess you can also get info as the panda grows and develops. Interesting way to make money!

Heroic Panda Mother Accidentally Killed by Gas
Quan Quan, after producing 7 baby pandas, was accidentally killed by poor ventilation at the Jinan Zoo. Sad story in China but eh… last month a mother panda sat on one of her twins so I guess if it goes around it comes around. The LA Times though wants to make sure you know that it’s all about the environment not about some dumb zoo employee:
Tragic accidents can befall animals in any setting — at a zoo, in a forest. But there is a special responsibility due to animals when humans hold them in captivity. (Quan Quan was born in the wild.) This most recent panda death serves as a reminder that the highly endangered animal’s best chance of long-term survival comes not from zoos but from extensive environmental stewardship.
Aren’t we humans just so evil?
