Chongqing part 2

So now that you’ve seen the picture of the MIGHTY Chang Jiang River, here is a great picture showing me and the river behind me… the hustle and bustle… Apparently this is the place that I would go if I were to take the cruise from Chongqing to Shanghai. COOL!

Chongqing has a few claims to fame, but one that is really cool is none other than “the home to the longest continuous escalator in ASIA…” cool right? Well since the city is practically built on the mountain everything is either up or down. So when you are at that area of the city and you need to get to the train station you just pay one RMB and you descend pretty darn far… IT SURE BEATS WALKING!!! Here I am on the escalator… cool!

Now that I took the escalator down to the train station… I had to organize my stuff. I love travelling by train and when I am bored I like to eat something. Probably not so good for my figure…if I had one, but it sure passes the time. Well I purchased two bags worth of food: noodles, water, chocolate, snacks and stuff long before I got to the train station to make sure it was cheap. Well sure enough, serves me right, I put everything in the security conveyor belt and walked through the fake metal detector and pushed my way through to retrieve all my junk…and sure enough I came out with just one bag of food, the one tied to my suitcase. I looked around…..asked for help from the policeman. Nothing. I was annoyed because that bag contained my noodles, specially picked instant noodles Chongqing style, and my coffee for the mornings and my chocolate!!!! My friend ran out to buy more noodles for me…but I never did find the second bag!!!! Annoying! Here I am outside the train station. This was the last time I saw that one bag of food.

One night during the vacation in Chongqing my friend and I were walking to someplace through a crowded commercial area and I saw something on the sidewalk that caught my eye. Now in Shanghai there are a lot of people on the streets begging and I’ve gotten pretty used to just ignoring them. But this was a bit different. There was a small little girl on the street not begging but doing a performance. Now there are some in China who have gotten their fame and fortune by being an acrobat, a kind of human pretzel, bending their body in ways that God never intended. Well, this was this kind of girl. But the reason she caught my eye was because of the peculiar way that she was performing. It is too difficult to explain how she was performing…that is why I included her picture…but let’s just say she has some pretty strong chompers!!! What kind of toothpaste does she use?!? Yes, that is her spinning around……..yikes!

Here i am with my friend overlooking the city at night. We went up to a park area in the mountains over looking the city. It was really nice and really cool. It was kind of crowded but not too bad.
