Election day 2004
November 2nd, 2004
I have no excuse.
I have nothing to say. I do have reasons that might be construed as an excuse…but it isn’t. Because I have no excuse.
I am talking about my right as an American to vote for the President of the United States. I have totally slacked off and here I am in far off China not being able to vote for the second presidential election in a row!! You see 4 years ago I was here in China and I didn’t vote and miraculously I didn’t learn my lesson and now 4 years later I am back in China with no ABSENTEE ballot. AAAAARRRRRGGG!

I did of course, sign up in Cambridge before I left and I did recieve a ballot in the mail about a month ago but it was for some city councillor and nothing else. Perhaps I filled out the wrong form or something. I could have gone to the Consulate during the last couple of weeks but I have heard that it takea a lot of prior arrangements stateside to be able to vote with no problems here in China. All of which I didn’t do.

So here I sit again. Reading stuff on the internet and listening to VOA on my shortwave radio…waiting for the results. I just hope it is straight-forward and obvious…not crazy and dragging on and on like last time.
If you read this during November 2nd…GET OUT AND VOTE. Vote for me if you can!
